What to expect

Hook A Barra provides a relaxed fishing day at Wonga Beach with a big barra pond that’s 60m x 30m and full of fish, some over 1m in length. The set-up is designed to be accessible with wheelchair friendly banks and a pontoon, and group sessions are organised so there’s space and support available without it feeling crowded.

For larger groups, the experience can be paced out by rotating through a few activities (such as fishing, a property tour, and lunch), so everyone gets a turn and the day stays easy and enjoyable.

All gear is provided and expert fishing guides are on hand so there is no experience required by you. Plus, we offer transport to and from so you don’t need to worry about a thing.

The handy details

Most sessions run with around 18 rods in the water at a time, which helps keep things comfortable and gives everyone a bit of space.

On top of wheelchair-accessible facilities (including the bathroom and fishing zone) and access around the farm, there are also options to help people get around on the day including an 8-seater golf cart, plus a bus and buggy (noting these take one wheelchair at a time).

We suggest allowing 3 hours for your visit plus travel time.
